WOMEN AGAINST SARAH PALIN

On Friday, August 29th John Mccain and the Republican party would announce Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin as their V.P pick for the 2008 Presidential elections and on Wednesday, September 3rd women across Amercia would respond.

Rather than choosing a candidate deserving of the V.P. nomination, the Republican party thought that they would choose the “American mom” for the position which may have not been a bad idea. But this mom apparently isn’t a good liar according to CNN’s Fact check of Palin’s speech at the Republican National Convention.

In fact below are some facts, beliefs and/or legislature that Sarah Palin tried to pass while in office:

As mayor, Palin tried to ban books from the library.

Palin supports the aerial shooting of wolves in Alaska — despite ballot measures in the state in which voters twice since 1996 have voted to end the practice.

Palin is anti-choice even in cases of rape or incest.

Palin has close ties to Big Oil. [Her inauguration was sponsored by BP.]

This year [May 21st 2008] the State of Alaska [under Palin's guidance] sued the U.S. government to stop the listing of the polar bear as a threatened species, arguing that the designation will slow development in the state.

Palin favors drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

She supported the Bridge to nowhere before she opposed it.

According to Republican Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Sarah Palin “doesn’t have any foreign policy credentials”.

In her interview with Charles Gibson, Sarah Palin stated that we should “perhaps” go to war with Russia and apparently doesn’t even know what the Bush Doctrine is.

“On Wednesday, September 3, “Women Against Sarah Palin” sent out an email to 40 friends and colleagues asking them to respond to Sarah Palin’s candidacy as Vice President of the United States. They forwarded the letter to their friends across America. To date, [they] have received more than 150,000 responses from women of all ages and backgrounds.”

On Sept. 14th Gov. Sarah Palin would return to Alaska to deliver a speech at the Dena’ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage only to meet a crowd NOT so happy to see the Republican nominee return. There were chant’s of Obama throughout the crowd, talks of the economy as well as posters being held supporting women’s rights all of which would go ignored by the Govenor and her staff.
